When clothing becomes uncomfortably tight and cuts into the skin, the body is sending a message that it is time to lose weight. The result will be improved health and almost certainly a longer lifespan. The following seven weight loss tips will create a slimmer, happier, and healthier person (mentally and physically).

The first tip for healthy weight loss is to stop dwelling on extra weight gain. Slowly but surely, this is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. Start tomorrow morning as a new person. Put some attractive oversize comfortable clothing on. Groom extra special each morning from this day forth. Looking and feeling comfortable upon waking in the a.m. until bedtime is the very important first step!

The second tip for healthy weight loss is after grooming is to glow inside as well! Focus on activities and eating habits. Make it a goal to make these habits natural. Forget the words “weight” or “diet”! Feel good and positive! As a new person, play some music and sip on 32 ounces of a favorite low fat beverage (coffee, tea, soda). Drink at least one glass of water each hour (set a timer) until bedtime.

The third tip for healthy weight loss is to remember Mother Nature will let one know when it is time to eat. Each morning (or the night before), prepare slowly, methodically, a huge low fat breakfast that will be enough for at least two or three breakfasts. A great big bowl of oatmeal (or whatever a person likes) with tons of no-calorie sweetener, non-fat milk and butter spray and 4 ounces of fruit (oranges, pineapple, bananas). Rinse and drain canned fruit thoroughly. Put this in the refrigerator. There should be little cleanup if done systematically and slowly. Now is the time to be carefree and continue the day.

The fourth tip for healthy weight loss is answering when hunger calls! Calmly, immediately go to the refrigerator and warm up some of the pre-prepared meals in a favorite plate. Slowly drink that glass of water. Slowly, savor little bites tasting and chewing for at least 10-15 seconds before the next bite! Then slowly sip on that low-fat beverage and enjoy this long leisurely meal! Clean up immediately. If the stomach still feels hungry, eat a little more or drink a lot more.

The fifth tip for healthy weight loss is to always remember and repeat the first four tips! This applies to each day upon waking until bedtime. This applies to all snacks and all meals. Eat favorite foods but be sure they are low in fat, substantial, and high in protein (eggs, tuna, chicken, peanut butter and so forth). Preparing in advance will allow a great selection of food quickly available and will prevent grabbing high-calorie snacks.

The sixth tip for healthy weight loss is to begin to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day or an hour every other day. Do something fun! Dance to a blasting radio. Take a bike ride or walk or run! Go roller-skating! Pilates burns calories and takes inches off fast if done routinely. Pilates and other exercise DVD programs are available online or at local stores.

The seventh tip for healthy weight loss is consistency and thinking positively. Do not discuss dieting or weight loss with any other person. Just do it. Be proud of accomplishments privately. Later, weight loss accomplishments are recognized!

Be patient, stay active, eat healthy, and be that same special person! Attitude is very important!
